After a heart attack (part 2)
Not only does this “help” threaten health, but family conflicts also flare up, and they don’t need a heart attack patient at all. In order to achieve a more qualified and active participation in the rehabilitation of the patients themselves and their loved ones in the All-Union Cardiology a special school has been organized at the scientific center of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, in which doctors bring to their listeners the necessary hygienic advice, recommendations on nutrition, regimen, and answer questions.
What do we advise patients? First of all, so that they are not afraid of physical activity, but, of course, strictly dosed in accordance with their individual capabilities. Successful psychological rehabilitation is greatly facilitated by participation in physical training conducted under the supervision of cardiological sanatorium doctors, cardiologic dispensaries, and clinics. As our nce shows, increasing physical capabilities, like nothing else, eliminates unjustified fear, returns former confidence in one’s abilities. Workouts normalize sleep, improve mood, increase endurance not only to physical, but also to mental stress, and increase sexual potency.
Of course, the efforts of the patient himself aimed at restoring his own health are of paramount importance. Unfortunately, many patients returning from the hospital, where they are usually. they didn’t smoke, because the medical staff strictly monitored this and, naturally, didn’t apply to alcohol, they again started to “go with the flow”, quickly wasting what was achieved in the hospital. Naturally, their condition worsens, and the point here is not the inevitable disease of the disease: the responsibility for the deterioration lies with them. Conversely, the implementation of dosed physical activity and a complete cessation of smoking and alcohol help to quickly restore health.
In conclusion, a few tips for relatives and friends of the patient, who can do a lot, help him get back on his feet faster, return to work. In the early days of illness, visiting a person, try to reassure him, if necessary – help him settle things. suddenly interrupted by a disease. It is important that he does not worry about anything, tune in only to treatment, be an active assistant to the doctor, and strictly follow all his recommendations. Before discharge from the hospital, be sure to discuss with the doctor all issues – both hygienic and organizational, related to rehabilitation at home. It is important to help the patient overcome difficulties that sometimes arise in the first weeks after returning home, to ensure systematic physical education classes. Consult with your doctor about the possibility of restoring intimate relationships, as they, as already mentioned, are of great importance for the psychological rehabilitation of the patient.
Do not forget that the person who has suffered a heart attack needs a diet, discuss with the doctor what and how best to cook. Try to create conditions so that the patient does not start smoking again: remove cigarettes, ashtrays, do not smoke yourself, try to take it, distract it, go for walks with it, read aloud. Gradually, increasingly include him in housework or in the garden plot, if you have one, entrusting what is within your power. So, gradually becoming familiar with work, a person will believe in the real possibility of a full restoration of health.
