Diabetes leads to the development of diseases in which the part of the pancreas where insulin is produced is damaged (acute and chronic pancreatitis, injuries, tumors and pancreatic cysts, hemochromatosis, tuberculosis).
In people predisposed to diabetes, certain medications may decrease glucose uptake by the body; including, for example, glucocorticoids, contraceptives (tablets and powders), a number of diuretics. Prolonged, and most importantly, uncontrolled intake of such drugs can disrupt the carbohydrate metabolism and provoke the development of diabetes.
I must say that people who eat a lot of sweets, long before the onset of diabetes, have a harbinger of it – a hypoglycemic condition associated with a decrease in blood sugar. At the same time, a person most often complains of fatigue, weakness, dizziness, hunger, irritability, and cold sweat appears. Worries, insomnia, blurred vision. All these symptoms quickly disappear if you eat a little sugar, a cake or a bun. However, soon, health is deteriorating again. And the more carbohydrates, especially refined, enter the body, the more often the hypoglycemic state develops. This is easy to explain.
